Join us in Village Square Garden for a free, relaxed, nature-filled session designed especially for little hands and curious minds.

While we keep the weekly theme a surprise until the big reveal on the day, you can always expect our much-loved Mini Gardeners format centred around wildlife:

🌱 The theme reveal and wildlife education

💧 Watering and helping in the garden

🪴 Sensory trays inspired by the theme

🎨 A simple take-home craft

🥪 Food for both children and their grown-ups

Each session gently introduces children to the plants, wildlife and seasonal changes happening right here in our garden. From tiny insects to blooming flowers and everything in between, we explore it together through play, creativity and hands-on helping.

Mini Gardeners is suitable for children and their grown-ups. Siblings of all ages are very welcome. There will always be a range of activities available, so you can get fully involved with your child, or take a moment to sit back with a cup of tea, or cuddle your littlest while your bigger ones dive in. We do ask that parents and carers remain in attendance, with a watchful eye, at all times.

If the weather turns, we’ll move indoors to the Stoke Youth and Community Centre so the session can still go ahead.

Please dress children in clothes you don’t mind getting a bit muddy or wet.

The sessions are free to attend. The activities are most suitable for 3-7 years old, but there is still plenty to do for other ages. If you’d like to chat anything through beforehand, including dietary requirements, please email Kirsty at bloom@thevillagehub.org.uk.

Thanks to this support, we’re able to bring free family sessions to Village Square Garden, creating opportunities for children and their grown-ups to explore wildlife, learn about the natural world and spend time together outdoors.
