About This Event

The Brownsea Swim will return in September 2026, featuring a complete lap of Brownsea Island in Poole Harbour. The event is run and managed by a team of experienced officials. The price for the event starts from £125.00. The exact date for the event is September 27, 2026.

England's most iconic island swim returns in September. It's a complete lap of Brownsea Island in Poole Harbour.

The Brownsea Island Swim is run and organised by RLSS Poole Lifeguard. It's their main fund raising event and primary source of funding.

The race is timed using ankle worn timing chips and there are prizes in various categories. The swim is open to swimmers aged 18 on the day of the swim.

There is the option to swim in wetsuit or skins (no wetsuit). Please see the FAQs for advice on whether to take on a skins swim.

Ferry to and from Brownsea Island

Professional chip timing

Silicone swim hats

Stunning swim with full safety cover. safety boats and marker buoys

Professional first aid

Optional: Organic cotton or recycled polyester t-shirt
