The Mug Painting workshop at Portsmouth University Chaplaincy will bring the opportunity to paint your own mug and relax with friends during Freshers Week 2026. The event will run from Tuesday to Thursday. The price is free.
From Tuesday to Thursday during Freshers Week 2026, come and paint your own mug (to take away with you), make friends, have fun and relax.
Come along to the Chaplaincy Centre, which is down the road with the Hampshire Boulevard Bar at the top, opposite the Students Union, and just five minutes from the University Library.
Decorate a free mug and take it away with you, while chatting, making friends and enjoying our free refreshments.
Sessions are running from 1-4pm on the Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday during Freshers Week.
This Welcome Week event is very popular and the sessions do get booked up quickly, but if you want, you can still pop along and see if we can fit you in.
(To guarantee your place, please turn up within 5 minutes of your booked session, or you can join the holding queue that we have for people dropping in.)
Usually, this is when students first discover the Chaplaincy Lounge - the university chill out zone, where you can mix and meet or relax and reflect.
Our lounge is open 9-5 Monday to Thursday and 9-4pm Fridays, so you always have somewhere alternative to hang out.
(Please note that when booking, sometimes it looks like the whole event is booked up, but it is just usually just the first session on the first day that makes it look like that.)
