About This Event

An autism-friendly mug painting workshop will be held at the Portsmouth University Chaplaincy. The free session is designed for relaxation and socialising after the Freshers period. Participants may take their painted mugs home.

On a quieter Monday, the week after Freshers 2026, come and paint your own mug (to take away with you), make friends, have fun and relax.

Come along to the Chaplaincy Centre, which is down the road with the Hampshire Boulevard Bar at the top and opposite the Students Union, and just five minutes from the University Library.

Decorate a free mug and take it away with you, while chatting, making friends and enjoying our free refreshments.

These are special autism-friendly sessions. If you don't require that, please book on our usual mug painting sessions on 15/16/17 September.

This event is very popular and does get booked up quickly and is bookable only.

If it is showing as fully booked, please email either disablityadvice@port.ac.uk or chaplaincy@port.ac.uk and we will see what we can do.

To guarantee your place, please turn up within 5 minutes of your booked session.

Usually, this is when students first discover the Chaplaincy Lounge - the university chill out zone, where you can mix and meet or relax and reflect.

Our lounge is open 9-5 Monday to Thursday and 9-4pm Fridays, so you always have somewhere alternative to hang out.

(Please note that when booking, sometimes it looks like the whole event is booked up, but it is just usually just the first session on the first day that makes it look like that.)
