Bringing Island communities and researchers together
Join ICORN and Raising Voices in Research for a morning of conversation, connections and opportunities.
The Island Community-Owned Research Network (ICORN) is delighted to welcome Raising Voices in Research (RViR) to the Isle of Wight for a collaborative event bringing together local residents, voluntary and community organisations, and researchers.
How can we make sure research reflects the needs and experiences of people living on the Isle of Wight? What opportunities are there for local organisations and communities to get involved, share their knowledge and help shape future research?
Whether you're involved in a charity or community group, have personal experience of health or care services, work in research, or are simply curious about how research could benefit your community, we'd love you to join us.
The morning will include opportunities to share ideas, hear about health and social care research, explore how community organisations might become Research Friendly Places, and make new connections.
We'll hear from researchers, voluntary sector colleagues and local people, with plenty of time for conversation and networking.
No previous experience of research is needed. We're particularly keen to welcome people from local voluntary and community organisations, alongside members of the public.
A full programme, including speakers and discussion topics, will be announced shortly.
This is a free event, with refreshments and lunch provided. Places are limited and booking is essential.
