Tackling Poverty & Disadvantage in Schools with Sean Harris
Join us in person for a interactive session with Sean Harris, where we'll dive into the real challenges of poverty and disadvantage in schools.
This session challenges simplistic and deficit-based explanations of educational disadvantage. Rather than assuming that pupils or families lack aspiration, motivation or engagement, delegates will consider how evidence can help them understand the particular barriers affecting children in their own school and community.
Sean will help delegates to push beyond the gap, applying poverty-informed practice to implement practice changes across classrooms, corridors and the wider life of the school.
All delegates will receive a copy of Sean's best-selling book: Tackling Poverty and Disadvantage in Schools.
