A soothing, restorative 90-minute yoga practice to promote flexibility and calm. Come join us at the Salisbury Centre for 90 minutes of yin yoga and guided meditation on the last Friday of each month; the perfect way to close off the month and start your weekend feeling refreshed and renewed. This class is suitable for complete beginners and experienced yogis alike. Please be aware it takes place in the Studio, which requires attendees climb a flight of stairs. Please arrive promptly – latecomers may not be able to enter – and bring water with you. What is yin yoga? Yin yoga is a slow-paced style of yoga that focuses on holding poses for longer periods, typically three to five minutes, to target deep connective tissues and fascia. It contrasts with more active, yang styles of yoga that focus on muscular strength and active stretching. Yin yoga emphasises stillness, introspection, and finding a gentle yet deep passive stretch. This class is not suitable for children or those who are pregnant. About the instructo r: Hannah Simpson Your body, your blueprint. Trained in yin yoga, vinyasa, meditation and functional yoga anatomy, I will work with you to discover the best asana variations for your body, helping you to find ease and achieve flexibility, openness and (ultimately) more comfort in your own skin. As someone living with hypermobility and lower back pain, working with your body (and not against it) is my passion. I believe an anatomy-first approach is the only way to achieve balance, age healthfully and make friends with your body. If you have any questions about this session or want to discuss 1:1 training, please reach out to me at hannahnicolesimpsonyoga@gmail.com.
