Introduction to Conscious Connected Breathwork for Women in Recovery

Join us at Warrior Studio on Sat the Nov 21st, 2026, from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM for an empowering, in-person event designed specifically for women in recovery.

Conscious Connected Breathwork is a potent tool for addiction recovery because it addresses the physiological and emotional roots of dependency that traditional talk therapy sometimes can’t reach.

This style of breathing quiets the mind and connects you to the wisdom of your body. True transformation begins when the body feels safe—allowing it to release past and present emotions, stress, trauma, tension, and limiting beliefs.

To ensure a safe, deeply supported environment, our group sizes are intentionally kept small, with experienced, trauma-informed facilitators present to hold space for you. There are no expectations: you go entirely at your own pace, and we are there to support you every step of the way.

What to Expect

Whether you are completely new to breathwork or looking to deepen your practice, this introductory group offers a guided, compassionate space to explore the power of your breath.

Introduction: We begin by discussing the neuroscience and technique behind Conscious Connected Breathwork (a continuous breath through the nose or open mouth, with no pause between the inhale and exhale). You will learn about the sympathetic and parasympathetic states of the nervous system, how it alters your physiology and why we utilise gentle touch and acupressure. We also talk through how to prepare for any physical or emotional sensations that may arise.

The Active Journey: You will lie back comfortably to a specially curated musical soundtrack and follow the conscious, connected breath pattern. Skilled facilitators will be nearby to hold space and offer touch, acupressure, or affirmations if desired.

Integration & Rest: The session concludes with a period of deep rest, allowing your breath to return to its natural rhythm. This is where your insights and shifts truly land within the body.

Sharing & Aftercare: You will have the opportunity to share your experience if you feel called to do so, and aftercare support will be provided.

About Nicole www.mindbodybreath.net

My path into trauma healing began over two decades ago with my own recovery from alcohol. On the surface, I was successful, but underneath, I was struggling with panic attacks, depression, anger, and burnout. Discovering how unresolved childhood trauma manifests as physical survival responses changed everything—shifting me from self-judgment to compassion.

That transformation inspired me to begin volunteering at a drug and alcohol service in 2006, setting off a 12-year journey in private practice. Early on, I realised talk therapy alone wasn't enough; true healing requires working directly with what the body holds.

This realisation led to years of deep personal and professional inquiry. My approach blends clinical psychology with holistic traditions, shaped by:

Somatic & Trauma Therapies: Advanced training in Dr Gabor Maté’s Compassionate Inquiry and Janina Fisher’s Sensorimotor Psychotherapy as well as EMDR.

Diverse Clinical Practice: Years of experience across criminal justice, humanitarian sectors, and private rehabilitation at The Priory.

Breathwork & Energy Medicine: Qualification as a Conscious Connected Breathwork, Reiki Master, and student of the Peruvian Andean Medicine Wheel, alongside indigenous plant medicine studies in Peru and Guatemala.
