About This Event

Create a memorable fantasy world for your story with author Akshay Gajria (part of The Writers Workshop's Weird Weekend) This workshop will take place via Zoom. This is a workshop for writers who want to develop their immersive storytelling. Whether you’re writing epic fantasy, urban magic, mythic retellings, or alternate histories, you’ll be guided through the essentials of building a rich, believable world your characters can truly inhabit. Building Weird Worlds is packed with concrete, actionable strategies you can apply immediately—no matter what stage of writing you’re at. Akshay Gajria is a London-based storyteller, writer, and writing coach with an MA in Creative Writing from Birkbeck, University of London. Currently writing action-horror fantasy, his previous writing has appeared in Fabled Planet, Skulls, Tamarind Literary Magazine, Human Parts, and more.
