About This Event

A winter solstice gathering with Sheffield Folklore Society & Druid drone wyrd folk band KYTH. As the wheel turns and the days reach their darkest, we gather together to call back the light. Join us on Saturday 19 December as we journey from the city to the peaks. We will meet up in Sheffield train station at 2pm to board the 2.14 train to Grindleford. We plan to sing and make merry on the train. Once we arrive at our destination (a short 15 minute train and then a 15 minute walk) we will mark the turning of the year with: Music from KYTH, Folktales and a winter solstice ritual to call back the light. We are looking for storytellers, so if you’d like to come along and tell a story, please let us know! We will then head off to the pub for more music and a few pints! Folk dress is encouraged so put on your bells, antlers, masks, headdresses, but please remember to wrap up warmly and wear sensible shoes.
