The aims of the session are:
The event aims to build awareness, confidence and consistency across the education system by sharing key developments in SEND reform, strengthening understanding of available support, and creating opportunities for schools and settings to influence future improvements through their feedback and experiences.
This session is designed to provide school and setting leaders with a clear understanding of the evolving SEND support offer across Sheffield and how the different elements fit together to strengthen inclusive practice and improve outcomes for children and young people with SEND.
Participants will:
Learn about the Experts at Hand (EaH) model, including its purpose, approach and how it can support schools to access expertise earlier and more effectively.
Explore the Intervention Menu, led by Educational Psychology and Laura Chambers, to understand how support can be progressively matched to need and how schools can access the right interventions at the right time.
Gain an update on the Graduated Approach, including its aims, current development and how it will support schools to identify, assess, plan, do and review provision more consistently and effectively.
Understand the new SENDSAR structure and ways of working, including the changes being implemented, the rationale for these developments and what schools can expect from the service moving forward.
