LEARN - You fix your own bike, we help

This event is designed for adults. You are welcome to bring a young person with you to learn, but please ensure any U18s are accompanied please.

Riding a bike in Sheffield is a great way to get around quickly, fit some exercise into your day and enjoy the great outdoors. It can be daunting if something unexpected happens on your ride, particularly if you feel like you haven't got the kit or experience to fix your bike and get rolling again. It can be tricky to get your bike booked in at a professional workshop to be fixed. Thankfully, there are heaps of repairs you can make to your own bike; these are quick, cheap and easy to do if you have the right tools and know what you are doing. This event is funded by the Big Bike Revival and is completely free to you.

Join us at St Andrew's Hall as part of the Nether Edge Festival for a hands-on event where you can learn how to fix your own bike. Whether it's a flat tire, wonky brakes, or a squeaky chain, our experts will be there to guide you through the process and help. Bring your bike and let's get our hands dirty together. No need to be a pro, just come with a willingness to learn and have fun. Don't miss out on this opportunity to become your own bike mechanic!

All tools and spares are provided. You will benefit most if you bring your own bike, but let the instructor know if you need to borrow one. The instructor is a Cytech level 3 technician with 13 years of experience in the industry. We have six stands so it's a great chance to meet other folk using their bikes in your community. There are even free refeshments to keep you spannerin'.

The event timings are 13.15 to 15.45. You can come for as little or as long as you like. If demand is high, we may be in touch to organise a time for you to come to make sure everyone gets access to a stand when they arrive.
