About This Event

The Freelancer Skills Series, in collaboration with Archipelago Arts, will take place at Sheffield Central Library on September 18, 2026. The afternoon session aims to empower artists and centralise collaboration.

An afternoon of activity to empower and equip artists to centralise collaboration.

An afternoon of activity to empower and equip artists to centralise collaboration; building the sustainable networks and partnerships that help realise their artistic ideas and the confidence to ensure these collaborations thrive. Featuring case study presentations of great collaborations, practical round table workshops, opportunities to build new collaborations and commissioned performances.

Freelancers will go away with a toolkit resource pack to support them across the different stages of collaborative project development as well as the opportunity to book 1-1 post-workshop advice sessions with the archipelago team.

Who is this for?

This Makers: In Collaboration workshop is for freelance artists within the performing arts sector who are looking to develop awareness of how to grow their collaborative networks and instigate partnerships with different organisations and artists. We will be looking at different areas of collaborative practice from artistic, administrative and producing perspectives.
