About This Event

On Saturday 28 November 2026, Carousel Print Studio in Sheffield will host a one-day workshop dedicated to Mokuhanga, the traditional Japanese method of water-based, non-toxic woodblock printing. Beginning at 10:30am at Exchange Place Studios, the session guides participants through the precise, meditative process of carving and printing by hand. This technique demands patience and control, producing layered, translucent images that speak to centuries of craft. Priced at £95, the workshop offers an intimate encounter with a discipline that balances force and restraint. The studio’s industrial setting provides a quiet counterpoint to the deliberate, rhythmic labour at the heart of this art.

Explore this traditional water based non-toxic printmaking method in a one-day workshop.
