If you have ever been curious about what goes into bringing a wooden figure to life, come join us for our next gathering of The String Pullers Marionette Social Club here in Sheffield. This session is designed for both seasoned puppeteers and complete beginners who are interested in the craft. We will be spending the afternoon looking at the mechanics of control bars, discussing how to achieve fluid movement, and sharing some of the technical tricks that help translate intention into a believable performance. Whether you are working on your own project at home or just want to see how others approach the art form, this is a space to learn and share ideas without any pressure. We really value the communal aspect of this group, so expect plenty of conversation, a bit of trial and error, and a supportive environment where everyone can ask questions. It is a great way to connect with others in the area who share an interest in this niche craft. We would love to get a sense of how many people are coming so we can arrange the space accordingly.
