This course aims to provide you with the opportunity to explore and understand more advanced nursing implications and care related to working with children or young people with a cancer diagnosis. Topics sometimes covered in this day:

• genetics in childhood cancer

• insight in to the complex issues surrounding childhood cancer

• clinical oncology emergencies and how they are treated and managed

• identify and understand new therapies and trials being introduced.

On completion of the course, you should have built on your current knowledge of the care involved in treating patients with a childhood cancer.

This is a full day course aimed at nurses that have attended the foundation oncology study day.
