Rock Pooling and Fossil Hunting Walk at Fort Victoria - 1 Mile
Join the Ranger to search for creatures past and present along Fort Victoria’s rocky beach. The low tide will allow us to search for creatures such as crabs, shellfish, anemones, shrimp and fish and the exposed shingle areas will hopefully reveal fossilised remains of the creatures that lived here millions of years ago.
Length of walk: 1 Miles (approx 1.5 hours)
Walk Leader: Anita Matheson
Walk Cost: £3 each or £5 for two people (£10 for a family) - please bring exact cash on the day.
Start / Finish location: Meet outside of the Rangers Office at Fort Victoria (next to the toilets). Fort Victoria, Westhill Ln, Yarmouth PO41 0RR.
Type of Walk: Circular
Pace of Walk: Gentle - This walk will follow a gentle pace.
Walk grade: Variable - Quite rocky in places and can be slippery on the rocks.
Mobility level: Suitable for a person with sufficient mobility to climb a flight of steps but would benefit from fixtures and fittings to aid balance.
