The Wessex In-Office Laryngology Course is a two-day educational programme combining expert-led teaching, practical procedural training and clinical observation in contemporary office-based laryngology.

The course takes place across two venues in Hampshire and Dorset, offering participants the opportunity to develop their understanding of diagnostic and therapeutic laryngology procedures.

Combining practical training with real-world clinical observation, this two-day BLA Badged+ course gives you the chance to build confidence, strengthen procedural knowledge, and explore the growing role of office-based laryngology in clinical practice.

Day 1 — Wednesday 9 December 2026

The first day includes teaching on developing a laryngology service, transnasal oesophagoscopy, oesophageal pathology, vocal fold injection augmentation, thyroplasty, laryngeal reinnervation and office-based laser procedures.

The afternoon features practical training in transnasal oesophagoscopy, laser techniques and injection augmentation using mannequins and pig larynges. Evening networking, dinner and entertainment are included in the programme.

Day 2 — Thursday 10 December 2026

The second day provides observational clinical experience, including TNO and TNG clinics, interventional laryngology clinics and manometry clinics, with trainees rotating between clinical areas.

Accommodation and practical information

Shared holiday-let accommodation is provided, with bedroom arrangements allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Participants attending the farm-based sessions are advised to bring wellington boots.
