Writing Believable Dialogue for Stage and Screen

In this one-hour practical writing workshop, writer Archie Lamprell will take you through a step-by-step guide to creating characterful and unique dialogue. Believable dialogue is one of the hardest things to produce in a script, a book, or any piece of writing. We hear normal speech every day, but when it comes to replicating it things can quite easily go wrong. But by identifying the individual parts of what makes a voice, we can create a vivid understanding of how each character in our stories might sound.

In the workshop you will create a short piece of dialogue, which we will then explore and experiment with, until at the end you leave with not only a wider understanding of what goes into crafting dialogue, but a short piece of conversation you have written which you can then take on into further work.
