A pub that was threatened with closure but then rescued by local people, dates back to 1720. 9.30pm And lastly we walk to Ye Olde Monken Halt. 193 High Street, High Barnet, EN5 5SU "Close to the site of the 1471 Battle of Barnet, this traditional Greene King tenanted pub dates from 1863. Locals and walkers drop in after a stroll over Hadley Common. Granted Asset of Community Value status in 2017, the pub offers four separate areas within an open plan layout."
