About This Event

A Journey around Town is a forthcoming photowalk event scheduled to take place on 19 September 2026 at Stirling train station. Participants will join host Gregor Boyd to explore the city at a leisurely pace while photographing local scenes. The Community category gathering features various performers and operates with free entry for attendees. This session provides an opportunity for photographers to document whatever happens to land in front of their camera during the walk.

Join Gregor Boyd, our regular photowalk host, exhibitor and festival volunteer, for a leisurely walking tour around the incredibly photogenic city of Stirling.

Starting at Stirling Railway Station, enjoy a meander through the city, photographing whatever happens to land in front of your camera.

No matter what your ability with photography, no matter what you’re shooting on whether it’s a full frame DSLR, a smartphone, a film camera or even a Gameboy colour - join us.

Location and Accessibility

Meeting point is close to Stirling's train and bus stations. Ample parking is available at the Forthside Car Park, 5 minutes walk to the station.

There are moderate hills on this walking route and some of the streets are cobbled, so please wear suitable footwear and be pre[ared for the weather!

Whilst in the city, take the opportunity to visit our Stirling Photography Festival exhibitions.

Jill Furmanovsky's 'Rebels and Renegades' at Tolbooth, in the beautiful Old Town of Stirling and the Royal Photogrpahic Society's Touring Documentary Awards Exhibition at The Smith Art Gallery and Museum. And why not jump on the UniLink bus to see our exhibitions in collaboration with the University of Stirling and Macrobert Arts Centre. We have Our Place in Time - Ted Leeming, and Fab! with Fabrizio Gianni, complemented by ‘Style on Screen: Italian cinema in the Edinburgh Film Guild Photographic Archive.’ This exhibition is in the University Library, above Macrobert. The University Photography and Video Society are holding a members exhibition 'On the Road' in Macrobert too. At The Pathfoot Building , 'Holding Place: Dundee Otherwise" and 'Contact' by artist in residence Jess Holdengarde.
