A session for professionals on considerations around heat networks and traditionally constructed buildings

Book your place on our free event on heat networks and traditional buildings

Presentations will be given by the authors of the new HES publication Short Guide: Heat Networks and Traditional Buildings as well as Scottish Government policy team and wider HES technical guidance. These presentations will look at areas such as the suitability of traditional buildings for connection to heat networks, the practicalities of doing so and consents.

Those attending in person will be able to collect a copy of the guide.

We will be delivering the sessions both in person at the Engine Shed in Stirling and online. For those attending online, the session will be delivered on MS Teams. The joining link will be sent to you the week before the event. To avoid disappointment, please check your organisation’s administrative restrictions allow you to receive the joining link from us and to attend online using MS Teams. The event will not be recorded.

Understand the role heat networks can play in decarbonising traditional buildings

Understand the factors which impact the connection of traditional buildings to heat networks

Understand the technical process of connecting traditional buildings to heat networks

Explore the planning considerations around traditionally constructed buildings and heat networks

Who should attend?

We encourage building professionals and managers, heritage professionals and those from relevant disciplines interested in developing their knowledge and practice in traditional buildings to consider attending. Local authority staff in relevant roles may also benefit from attending.

We also welcome anyone responsible for a traditional building or with an interest in the broader aspects of architectural history and building conservation in Scotland.
