Join us for the first in a brand-new monthly series of Craft. Gather. Create evenings from The Shared Plate — bringing together seasonal making, good food and the chance to slow down, connect and enjoy the changing seasons.

Our first evening takes inspiration from Samhain, a Celtic seasonal festival associated with the end of the harvest season and the transition into winter.

Samhain folklore tells of a time when the boundary between the living and spirit worlds was believed to become thinner. Inspired by these traditions, we'll explore the season through natural materials, making and food.

🌿 What to expect

Clay Seed Bombs

We'll start with a simple hands-on activity making clay seed bombs using clay, compost and wildflower seeds — ready to plant and watch bloom in spring.

🔔 Samhain Spirit Bells

Our main craft for the evening will be Samhain Spirit Bells — botanical hanging bells inspired by seasonal folklore.

Using dried flowers, herbs, grasses, natural materials, fabric and bells, you'll create your own unique piece to hang at home.

Bells and other protective objects have long featured in folklore and have been associated with creating a sense of protection and warding off unwanted energies.

🍲 A Shared Plate Feast

Once we've finished crafting, we'll gather around the table for a relaxed seasonal feast.

Expect a warming autumnal dhal, with seasonal accompaniments.

We'll also have a seasonal snack and a welcome drink on arrival, with tea, coffee and herbal teas available throughout the evening.
