Course Overview
Following the success of the Woodwork Wonders course by Pete Moorhouse, this session builds on those creative approaches by exploring the powerful use of materials in learning.
This session explores how creative materials can be used as powerful tools to support learning. Participants will develop a deeper understanding of the role of materials within Foundation Learning pedagogy, focusing on how clay, paper, fabric, light and loose parts can stimulate creativity, curiosity and independence.
Through a blend of practical exploration and examples of effective practice, participants will explore how to move beyond surface-level activities towards rich, meaningful learning experiences that support engagement and progression.
Target Audience
Practitioners working with children aged 3–8, including teachers, HLTAs and teaching assistants. The session is also relevant for leaders seeking to strengthen provision and learning environments.
Session Aims
