@ Includes cake and coffee/tea all day! Learn the art of freemotion embroidery in this class aimed at beginners. Learn the art of freemotion embroidery in this class aimed at beginners. Enjoy the freedom of drawing with your machine to create your own artwork. This in-depth ‘Afternoon Tea’ themed beginner’s class covers everything you need to know to learn this technique, from setting up your machine and what equipment you will need, to top tips and handy advice to get the most out of this wonderfully creative technique. This workshop is taught by Caroline Michelle Morgan who is a Textile artist specialising in freemotion embroidery. Throughout the day you will be taught the skills and techniques required, by producing several small samples, growing in confidence as you become more skilled at the technique. Ending the day by producing a lovely piece of freemotion artwork using the raw edge applique technique. You will need to bring the following materials and equipment, everything apart from the sewing machine feet can be purchased in the shop if needed: Sewing Machine, please bring your extra wide table for your machine if you have one (helpful but not essential), also don’t forget your foot pedal and cable. If you would like to borrow a machine for the day; we have some Janome rental machines you can hire for £5 for the day they have the freemotion embroidery feet needed. Please send us an email after you’ve booked to request this. Freemotion embroidery foot Plain white felt or similar stable fabric for the various practice samples A small variety of fabric scraps to produce the raw edge applique artwork Black thread Your usual sewing equipment, scissors etc Bondaweb – can be purchased in the shop Workshop Details Date: Wednesday 2 September 2026 Time: 10am – 4pm Skill Level: Beginner Price: £60 per person Places: 10 maximum Tutor: Caroline Michelle Lunch can be purchased in the cafe and you’ll receive a 10% discount Free Parking right outside Air conditioned room!
