About This Event

A Beginners Upholstery Course will take place at The Hepworth Wakefield in Wakefield on October 17, 2026, starting at 09:00. At a cost of £115.00, participants will have the opportunity to learn upholstery skills and make a footstool in a single day.

Join our hands-on Upholstery course and craft your own footstool in just one day!

Spend the day learning the fundamentals of modern upholstery as you build your footstool from the frame up. Guided step by step, you'll assemble the structure, add padding, learn to cut and fold corners and finish with your chosen fabric. By the end of the course, you'll leave with a handcrafted piece to take home.

Participants need to bring 1metre of upholstery grade fabric of their choice. All other materials and tools will be provided. The standard footstool on this course is 16"x16" inches. You will be able to pick from a selection of wooden legs to suit your tastes.

No experience is needed for this course and it is suitable for all ages from teens and beyond.
