About This Event

The People's Emergency Briefing will take place on 16 October 2026 at Thornhill Street in Wakefield. This event aims to inform attendees about the implications of climate breakdown. Attendance is free.

The UK, the world, faces unpredented climate breakdown. Have you been properly briefed on what this means for us? Join us to find out more

Join us on Friday 16th October at the Friends Meeting House, Thornhill Street, Wakefield for a screening of the People's Emergency Briefing.

We have watched the wildfires on the news. We have tried to keep our ancient parents and grandparents cool during successive heatwaves. We have watched news stories of drought, crop failures, rising prices - all because of climate change. El Nino, floods, biblical storms - they are on our screens constantly.

Come and find out more from real experts - what are the most pressing issues, and the many things we can do about each of them. We are not powerless - let's find out what we can do and how we can organise to make change happen.

Some of you will know the venue as the Quaker Meeting House. Postcode WF1 1NQ.
