An overview on the use of resin infiltration to successfully treat anterior discolourations and posterior interproximal caries

Aims and objectives:

This one-day hands on event will provide delegates with an in‐depth knowledge of tooth whitening to achieve successful results and satisfied patients.

Participants will learn how to correctly diagnose and to successfully treat white spot lesions using resin infiltration techniques.

A.I technology will be used to demonstrate how posterior interproximal enamel lesions can be detected and treated using resin infiltration.

Dentamile software will be used to show how 3D printed trays can be designed, adapted for individual cases and printed.

Participants will get the opportunity to participate in a hands-on demonstration and practical.

Learning outcomes:

By the end of this course, participants should be able to:

· Assess the indications and the contraindications for resin infiltration techniques for anterior and posterior teeth

· Understand how to use AI technology to help diagnose interproximal enamel caries

· Participate in a practical session undertaking the steps required to treat early interproximal caries and removal of white spots on anterior teeth

· Understand how to undertake resin infiltration for simple, intermediate, and advanced resin infiltration treatment

· Understand the scientific basis for bleaching, to help identify the best techniques

· Demonstrate effective isolation techniques for infiltration treatment

· Understand the laws and regulations for whitening under 18-year-olds

· Understand the benefits in using 3D printed whitening trays over conventional thermoplastic trays
