Are you part of a community or faith group that supports women in Warrington or neighbouring areas? This could be a women’s group, walking group, wellbeing meetup, charity, Community Interest Company (CIC), cultural association or any other community-led group.
Join TIE to Wellness CIC for a friendly, interactive roundtable bringing community and faith leaders together to discuss what helps women access breast screening, what gets in the way and how we can strengthen community-led engagement.
What is the roundtable about?
A roundtable is a guided group conversation where everyone has the opportunity to contribute. You do not need medical knowledge or to prepare a presentation.
We want to hear your experiences, concerns and ideas about breast awareness and screening in the communities you support. Together, we will consider what works well, what could build trust and cultural inclusion, and which community-led approaches could make a difference.
Our main question
How can community and faith groups help shape breast awareness and screening engagement that women in Warrington and neighbouring areas trust and find relevant?
Our conversations will consider:
Experiences: What helps women engage with breast awareness and screening, and what gets in the way?
Approaches: What could meaningful community-led engagement look like, taking account of trust, cultural inclusion, faith, modesty, privacy and past experiences?
Priorities: Which ideas should we develop further together, and what support would community groups need?
What to expect
We will use a World Café approach, with small-group conversation rounds where you can share experiences and build on one another’s ideas.
We will also draw on community insights gathered through Screen and Thrive to inform the discussions and build on what women have already shared.
The session will identify shared priorities to inform the next stage of community-led engagement.
