If you'd love the opportunity to be more creative, and hang out with like-minded people, you need Creative Rituals Community.

Join us every other Tuesday for a relaxed, welcoming evening of creativity, chats and connection. Bring along an unfinished project, start something new, do some journalling, have a doodle, read or chat about a book, or simply enjoy being with other creative peeps.

Each session has a theme for you to interpret in your own way, and this week's theme will be Self Love.

We're taking inspiration from the New Moon in Libra on 10 Oct. Libra is ruled by Venus, the planet of love, beauty and harmony, and true Libra balance means starting with harmony within yourself.

How can you be more self compassionate? What healthy boundaries do you need to put in place, both with yourself and others?

For this session you might want to reflect on what this means for you through journalling, create a self portrait, explore the themes of our recommended book, or start creative rituals that celebrate you (if you’re need a pep talk, we’re here!).

No experience needed, no pressure, no expectation to create a masterpiece. And, we'll be on hand with inspiration if you're stuck for ideas, or want to learn more about slowing down and living seasonally.

Or if you wanted to read something to explore the theme further, the lovely Leah from Very Small Bookshop in Bristol – our venue for the sessions – has recommended All About Love by Bell Hooks, a rethinking of self-love that’ll bring peace and compassion to our personal and professional lives. Visionary and original, Hooks shows how self-love is the cornerstone of compassion and forgiveness, and holds the power to overcome shame. A brilliant book that will change how we think about love, our culture and one another.

What to expect...

We'll start with a short grounding meditation. From there we'll introduce the theme, share some ideas, inspiration, and journalling and creative prompts. Then, we'll settle into making, creating, reflecting, reading, chatting or simply taking some time for yourself.

You're welcome to:

Bring a craft project (crochet, embroidery, knitting, etc.)

Read or reflect

Talk about our current book, All About Love by Bell Hooks, suggested by Leah from Very Small Bookshop

Chat to people and make friends

Do absolutely none of the above and just enjoy the atmosphere!

We'll finish with an optional check-in, sharing what we've been working on, and briefly discuss the next session's theme.
