About This Event

The 'Do Disability Differently' book launch will take place at The Three Mills, Wigan on 3 December 2026 at 6:30 PM. The event coincides with International Day of Disabled People and is free to attend.

Get ready to see disability from a fresh perspective at this book launch on International Day of Disabled People!

Join us for launch of Alex Winstanley's latest book 'Do Disability Differently'.

The event will include:

Signed copies of the book available

A live sneak preview of the book

Q&A with the author

In partnership with Maddison House Press, this will be Alex's first book aimed at adults and professionals, whilst also being renowned for his award-winning children's books based on lived experience.

The book has been shaped by the thoughts and experiences of hundreds of children and families with lived experience of disability/neurodivergence.

Join Alex, members of the Happy Smiles CIC team and celebrity guests as we host some great conversations, hear inspiring stories and get an official sneak preview of the book!
