An Introduction to Circadian Rhythms and SleepJoin us during Biology Week 2026, on 15 October 2026 from 6.00PM-9.00PM, at RHUL's Moore Auditorium.

Professor Russell Foster, FRSB, professor of Circadian Neuroscience at the Nuffield Department of Clinical Science, University of Oxford, will deliver a lecture on the Introduction to Circadian Rhythms and Sleep followed by Networking and Refreshments. You will gain knowledge on how your internal biological clock regulates sleep, explore mechanisms at the neuron level, and learn to manage lighting and darkness in your work and home environment

The lecture offers valuable knowledge for professionals and students in the biological sciences, medicine, most notably neuroscientists, those in biotech and clinical R&D sectors. Perfect for clinicians and other healthcare and wellbeing professionals such as professional in 24-hour operating sectors like the NHS, fire rescue services, law enforcement, fisheries, transportation, sailors, among others. Circadian Rhythm enthusiasts, the wider scientific community and the general public will find the contents of the event most rewarding.

Our program series “Clocks and X,” exploring the impact of the Circadian Clock is approved by the Royal Society of Biology for purposes of CPD, this event may be counted as 9 CPD credits.
