A relaxed, friendly evening for Punjabi learners to practice speaking Punjabi, meet others & build confidence, whatever your current level.

Come along for an evening of speaking Punjabi, meeting new people and building your confidence in a relaxed and supportive setting.

Whether you understand Punjabi but struggle to speak it, can hold a basic conversation, or speak fluently, this evening is for you. There’s no formal teaching and no pressure to get everything right. The focus is simply on having a go and enjoying the experience.

What to expect

🗣️ Punjabi conversation

Take part in short conversations with different people, using simple prompts to get the conversation going.

💬 Everyday topics

Talk about things like food, family, travel, hobbies, childhood and everyday life.

🤝 Meet others

Connect with Punjabi learners and speakers who are also looking to use and improve their Punjabi.

🌱 Build confidence

Practise speaking in a friendly environment where making mistakes and asking for help is encouraged.

☕ Relax and socialise

Enjoy refreshments during a short break before coming back together for more conversations.

The session is part of a 4-week pilot throughout September 2026, helping us explore how we can create more regular opportunities for people to speak Punjabi, connect with others and keep the language alive across generations.

All abilities are welcome. You don't need to be fluent, just be willing to speak!
