About The Children

The Children at Lyric Hammersmith Theatre is Lucy Kirkwood’s darkly funny drama about Hazel and Robin, who are living on the edge of a radiation exclusion zone after a catastrophe. Trying to keep normal life going, they cling to routine, with Hazel practising yoga and Robin brewing parsnip wine.

When their old friend Rose arrives, she brings buried memories, old secrets and a proposition that tests loyalties and forces the characters to confront their debt to the next generation. This 10th anniversary production is directed by Artistic Director Rachel O’Riordan.

The production stars Olivier Award-nominated Meera Syal as Hazel.
