Learn to skate and play roller derby!

In recognition and celebration of Black History Month, Birmingham Roller Derby is hosting a free learn to skate session, as well as free training sessions for the month of October. You can also hire kit from us for free!

This session is open to all, but we would particularly love to welcome people from Black and underrepresented ethnic backgrounds to learn more about our sport and league.

This year’s theme for BHM, “Honouring Our Communities,” invites us to recognise the individuals whose everyday contributions shape, support and sustain Black life across the United Kingdom.

We are proud to be an inclusive and diverse league, representing the sport of Roller Derby in Birmingham, the UK and beyond. Whether you want to skate, officiate, volunteer or just find a new community - there’s a place for you here.

All genders are welcome learn to skate through the Academy, complete their minimum skills and take part in non-contact drills.

All genders are welcome to participate as Skating Officials, Non-Skating Officials, or Volunteers.
