Come and join the family of OPAL schools at this regional network meeting. Whether you are just starting out or are an established OPAL school, this afternoon session will bring inspiration, ideas and the chance to network with like-minded local schools.

See an OPAL lunchtime in action, watch the children play and talk to them about they manage risk. See how the grounds are used effectively, how SEND children are included, and talk to the play team about what's changed.

1pm–2:15pm School's journey

Hear from the curricular lead as she describes their school's journey, sharing wins and challenges along the way. Ask questions, network with colleagues from other OPAL schools and pick up lots of tips and ideas to take back to your own school.

About Sacred Heart Primary School

Play at Sacred Heart was recently recognised as a strength by Ofsted, who said "The playground comes alive with activity as pupils build, create, play games and enjoy exploring with their friends." As a school, they put their children's voices at the heart of everything they do, and staff work hard to ensure a sense of belonging and community. The children's wellbeing has been the driving force to improve their lunchtimes, and the thread of children's agency, achievement and empowerment runs through the day. Every corner of the challenging schools grounds is used effectively for play, and the team have navigated challenges of a new build, urban site to achieve this. They have worked especially hard to bring a team of lunchtime supervisors along with them, with effective communication and reflection processes in place.
