Solar Tree Factory Tour and Overview of Transport & Logistics Sector Renewable Infrastructure
When: Friday 25th September 2026
Time: Arrivals from 09:30, event starts at 10:00 and concludes with networking lunch by 13:30
Where: Solar Tree Unit A, Manders Estate, Old Heath Road, Wolverhampton, WV1 2RP
Solar Tree designs, manufactures and delivers British-made renewable infrastructure for logistics, transport, fleet, retail and property portfolios. Its offer covers solar canopies for car parks, commercial vehicles and HGV-scale applications, integrated with EV charging, battery storage and fully funded delivery options including PPA and asset finance.
The session will provide an overview of how Solar Tree’s turnkey delivery model supports clients across their carbon, energy and financial journey, helping organisations turn car parks, depots, transport yards and underused estate areas into productive clean energy assets. The day begins with a business overview and sector-focused presentation, followed by a factory floor visit to see canopies being fabricated using British Steel, before closing over lunch with discussion on how CILT members and Solar Tree could work together across portfolios as the business scales nationally.
Draft Agenda
09:30 to 10:00: Arrival, Coffee and Welcome. Introductions
10:00 to 11:00: Presentation on Solar Tree, including the logistics and transport value proposition, UK manufacturing approach, turnkey delivery, EV charging, battery storage, funded models and portfolio rollouts

12:00 to 13:30: Lunch, Informal Networking and Q&A
Target Audience
We especially encourage senior participants from logistics, transport, fleet, retail, construction logistics, infrastructure, supply chain, real estate and public sector estates. Target roles should include operations, fleet, property, energy, procurement, finance, sustainability and infrastructure decision-makers who are actively considering depot decarbonisation, EV transition, renewable energy, energy resilience and portfolio-scale investment.
Solar Tree Ltd is a UK renewable energy business designing, manufacturing and installing solar canopy infrastructure for car parks, commercial vehicle areas, depot environments, HGV parking and underutilised land across UK commercial real estate and operational portfolios. The proposition is fully turnkey: feasibility, design, British Steel manufacture in the UK, installation, operation and funding support.
Manufacturing takes place at the Solar Tree factory facility, part of the ACFS / Metek factory in Wolverhampton. The Solar Tree business is delivered as a joint venture bringing together three partners with more than 50 years of combined track record: Metek PLC for steel and structural design and manufacturing, Ward Williams Associates for built environment consultancy, project delivery and cost management, and Bauer Group for asset management and renewable design and installation.
The business has an ambitious multi-megawatt annual deployment growth plan, targeting logistics and transport operators, fleet owners, asset owners, REITs, retail and distribution groups, public sector bodies and organisations seeking to decarbonise operational estates while strengthening energy resilience and financial performance. A flagship reference project has delivered 275 kWp of renewable generation across a 100-space car park, integrated with EV charging infrastructure.
