Join this leisurely ramble with a Birmingham Ramblers group leader and enjoy social walking with our friendly members.
It is essential that the walk leader has prior knowledge of numbers that will be on this walk. We ask you to complete this very brief form to help with our planning of the walk to ensure that we can safely accommodate all who wish to join us. You will receive an automatic acknowledgement when you submit this form, and also a reminder of the details 2 days before the walk.

This is an attractive canal tow path walk along the Worcester and Birmingham Canal.
Meeting arrangements:
The leader will meet walkers at Alvechurch train station.
Travel to the start at Alvechurch Station:
Train: Catch the cross city train at New Street Station at 9.43 am to arrive at Alvechurch Station 10.18 am. Fare £5.80. West Midlands travel pass holder need to pay from Longbridge to Alvechurch £3.90.
By car: not recommended, However parking at Alvechurch station is free. Postcode B48 7SE. Please be ready to start the walk at 10.30 am.
Return from the Man on the Moon. By Bus: No. 45 at The Man on the Moon stops on the junction of Redhill Road and Redditch Road. Either to City Centre (35mins), Kings Norton station (10 mins) or Longbridge station(10mins). The buses are every 15 minutes.
Walk Description:
From the station the route goes north passing under the railway and M42 heading to Bittel Reservoir. After a bit of bird spotting, the canal passes under the Redditch Road at Hopwood and then goes under Wast Hills. We leave the towpath here to walk over Wast Hills with good views before descending to the Man in the Moon. Distance 5.75 miles. Total ascent 368ft.
Bookings for this walk will close at 06.00 on Thursday 15 October. After this, please email bhamramblersenquiries@gmail.com to enquire about any late availability for the walk.
