A walk through the dry dales of Huggate with tea and cake at St Mary's Church. Part of the Walking East Yorkshire Festival.
Join us for a 6.5 miles walk around the dry dales of Huggate.
Starting at the village car park we walk through the pretty village before joining a section of the Yorkshire Wolds Way passing Glebe Farm before a descent into Horse Dale, and then a climb out of it, following a path along West Lands which takes us up to Huggate Wold. From here we take a track leading to Wold House Farm where a bronzed statue pays homage to a loyal farm worker. There were huge views over the surrounding countryside as we made our way across the top of the wold. We then descend gently into Holm Dale and Harper dale before heading back on a section of the Chalkland way along Rabbit Dale and back to Huggate where you will enjoy tea and cake in newly renovated St Mary’s Church.
Please park in the main Huggate Car park where you walk leader will be waiting for you. Bring a drink and snack for on route.
