About This Event

A writing session for Individual Education Plans will be held on 1 October 2026 at Sunnybank School. Participants will learn basics and tips based on current Aberdeen City Council guidance. Admission to the workshop is free.

Join us in person to learn the basics and tips for writing effective IEPs following current Aberdeen City Council guidance.

This practical workshop is aimed to support teachers, school leaders and Early Years Practitioners to develop confidence in writing effective Individualised Education Programmes (IEPs).

Participants will explore the purpose of IEPs within inclusive education, learn how to identify needs and barriers to learning, and develop SMART targets that support meaningful learner progress. Through hands-on activities, attendees will gain practical tools for gathering evidence, planning effective strategies and supports, and reviewing and evaluating outcomes. By the end of the workshop, participants will leave with a clear understanding of the IEP process, practical approaches to writing high-quality plans, and greater confidence in setting realistic targets and monitoring progress.
