About This Event

The Inner Wintering Restorative Yoga & Sound Bath is set for 19 December 2026 at The Roger Morris Community Centre in Basingstoke. This wellness event includes gentle yoga, a restorative sound bath, and guided journaling, aimed at reflection and reconnection as the year ends.

Welcome winter with gentle yoga, a restorative sound bath and guided journaling. Pause, reflect and reconnect as the year draws to a close.

A Ritual of Rest, Reflection & Renewal

As the year draws to a close and we approach the Winter Solstice, you’re warmly invited to step away from the busyness of everyday life and join us for a nourishing morning of gentle, restorative yoga, sound healing and guided journaling.

The Winter Solstice marks the shortest day and longest night of the year, reminding us that even in the darkest seasons, there is space for stillness, restoration and the quiet beginnings of something new.

Nature doesn’t rush through winter. Trees release their leaves, the earth rests, and life continues beneath the surface, preparing for what is yet to come. We, too, can benefit from allowing ourselves this time to slow down, turn inward and simply be.

This seasonal mini retreat is an invitation to honour the year that has passed, acknowledge all that you have experienced and create space to rest, reflect and reconnect with yourself.

Through gentle, grounding yin yoga, an immersive crystal sound bath and guided journaling, we’ll explore the themes of winter: stillness, rest, reflection and renewal.

You don’t need to arrive with any particular intention, experience or expectation. Simply come as you are and allow yourself the space to settle.

🌿 What to expect

1. Opening & Arrival — Grounding into Winter

We’ll begin by arriving gently into the space, connecting with the breath and settling into the body through a grounding meditation. Together, we’ll acknowledge the changing season and create space to arrive just as we are, without needing to rush, perform or achieve anything.

2. Restorative Yin Yoga — Slowing Down & Turning Inward

Our yoga practice will be slow, nurturing and accessible, with mindful movement, gentle stretches, breath awareness and moments of stillness. Inspired by the grounding qualities of the Earth element and the inward energy of winter, this practice will invite you to soften, reconnect with your body and find comfort in moving at your own pace.

No previous yoga experience is necessary, and all movements can be adapted to suit you.

3. Gentle Sound Bath — Rest & Receive

Settle into a comfortable resting position and allow the soothing sounds of crystal singing bowls, koshi chimes and other resonant instruments to fill the space.

This is an opportunity to pause, soften and enjoy some uninterrupted time for yourself. There’s nothing you need to do or figure out. You’re welcome to rest, listen and simply notice your own experience.

4. Journaling & Reflection — Honouring the Year Behind You

We’ll close with guided journaling and reflection, offering gentle prompts to help you acknowledge the experiences, lessons and moments of growth that have shaped your year.

You’ll have space to recognise what you’re grateful for, consider what you’re ready to release and reflect on what you would like to nurture as you move into a new season.

There’s no pressure to have everything figured out. This is simply an opportunity to listen inwardly and make room for whatever feels meaningful to you.

✨ How you may leave feeling

More grounded and connected to your body

Rested, with a little more space to breathe

Reflective and appreciative of the year you’ve experienced

Ready to gently release what no longer feels right to carry

Nourished by time spent away from everyday demands

🤎 Who is this retreat for?

This retreat is for anyone who feels called to slow down, reconnect and make a little space for themselves as the year comes to a close.

Whether you’re completely new to yoga and sound baths or have joined me at previous classes and retreats, you are warmly welcome.

You don’t need to be flexible, experienced or familiar with meditation. Everything will be gently guided, with permission to adapt the practices and honour your own needs throughout.
