About This Event

The Carmilla Night Fair will take place on Saturday 3rd October 2026 at E45 P084 in Athlone. Described as a queer night of poetry, sound, drama, art, theatre, crafts, and dance, the event is scheduled to run from 17:00 until late evening. Admission costs £30 for entry into this community-focused gathering featuring various performers. Arrivals are expected at 16:00 prior to the start time.

North Tipperary Queer Shed and Live Art Ireland are coming together to

curate 'The Carmilla Night Fair', a queer night of poetry , sound,

drama, art, theatre, crafts and dance. Taking place on Saturday 3rd

October at Live Art Ireland!

Who is highlighting this event?

Didi Delaney will be exhibiting their paintings in the barn at Live

Art Ireland. A lot of Didi's work has been shaped by their own queer

identity, alongside their love and passion for nature.

Jennifer Ryan-Kelly is an illustrator, animator and drama teacher

based in Tipperary. Her artwork draws inspiration from the depths of

Irish mythology. She will be providing 2 workshops: workshop 1 will

take you on an imaginative journey to the faerie realm and workshop 2

you will design interactive paper dollls that reveal hidden surprises.

Synthesise Her is a feminist sound technology project founded to heal

the mind/body split within technological learning environments.

Together, Viva and Roísín perform as [SPIT] using custom built

electronic instruments, samples and movement.

Litreacha is a queer poetry collective and run a monthly open mic for

queer writers and musicians in Cork City to share their work and

socialise.

Brendan Egan is an interdisciplinary artist from West Clare

experimenting with movement, sound and material to develop

experiential approaches to place, body and perception.

Rhayn Abner is a writer originally from California. She specialises in

short stories in speculative fiction, particularly in the horror

genre.

Please get in touch with us if you cannot pay the full price of the

ticket but would still like to go. The events starts at 5pm but we

recommend arriving at 4pm. Events will be happening simultaneously in

different areas around Live Art Ireland. There is an option to camp at

Live Art Ireland on Saturday night or to stay in the house (first come

first serve to stay in the house - extra fee for staying in the house

is compulsory).

Please note most event spaces are accessed by stairs.
