Join us to tour the PollinateHV case study site in Red Hook, a twelve-acre former cornfield at Bard College’s Montgomery Place Campus. Trails through this expansive meadow wind along several woody hedgerow installations, with expansive views of the Catskills. We'll discuss best practices and pitfalls for meadow-making and meadow management, and address practical questions around land stewardship in the Hudson Valley.
The tour will be led by Amy Parrella, Director and Co-Founder of the Bard Arboretum. Amy is a professional horticulturist with over 25 years of experience in public and private horticulture and landscape management. She currently stewards Bard’s 1000-acre campus landscape including its formal gardens, a 70-acre old-growth forest, greenhouses, and a national historic landmark site. Amy has a background in environmental studies, archaeology, non-profit administration, and early childhood education; she also volunteers with the local Red Hook Central School District outdoor classroom garden program and with the Friends of Clermont Parks.
