The event features various performers leading classes that explore a deep connection between yoga practice and therapeutic approaches. Attendees can expect an immersive wellness experience focused on these specific teaching methods within the historic venue. Registration for this free session is available prior to the start date.
About the class: I am a dedicated yoga teacher and occupational therapist with over 20 years of experience in both fields. My sessions take a meditative approach to yoga, exploring the deep connection between breath and movement. I integrate physical postures (āsana), mindful movement, breathing techniques (prānāyāma), and guided relaxation to create a well-rounded practice. My aim is to help you cultivate strength, flexibility, and ease in your body while fostering a sense of inner calm. This class welcomes all genders and ages but is best suited for those with prior experience in yoga or a similar movement practice. In addition to the core elements, sessions include Vedic chanting, meditation, and sound work, with a strong focus on breathwork, including more advanced forms of prānāyāma. I keep class sizes small to provide individual support, encourage steady progression, and offer modifications and alternatives where needed. Students enroll per term—drop-in classes are not available, as commitment to the full course (which may vary in length) is essential. Taught by: Vicky Baylis –Vicky is a yoga teacher and neurological occupational therapist with over 20 years experience in both. She is a fully qualified yoga therapist and offers yoga therapy and one to one yoga sessions. Benefits of the class: Relaxation and peace of mind Improved strength, flexibility and ease in the body Progression of own yoga practice Opportunities to meet people and engage in a shared experience What to wear/bring to the class: Comfortable clothing that you can move easily in Own yoga mat is essential Bring your own bottle of water A blanket and a yoga block (although I do have a small supply of these if needed) Testimonials: "Vicky's classes are the highlight of my week. I always come away feeling positive and relaxed. Vicky is an amazing teacher and has really helped me to develop my own practice." “I have been practising yoga with Vicky for over a year now and I find it invaluable to helping me manage my busy weeks mentally, as well as various aches and pains. Vicky combines a wonderful mix of both mind, body and spiritual awareness. Her pace is gentle, kind and careful, being mindful of individual differences and struggles. In addition, the classes are relaxed and fun." “Yoga with Vicky is a true mind and body experience. Each term she provides innovative and new practices that she delivers with warmth and humour. Each session provides a real reset of the mind so you leave every session feeling calm, grounded and ready to face the rest of the week." Cost: £12 per class (termly blocks are payable up front; so for 6 weeks it would be £72) Additional information: Vicky is a yoga teacher and neurological occupational therapist with over 20 years experience in both. She is a fully qualified yoga therapist and offers yoga therapy and one to one yoga sessions.
