A guided walking tour of the ancient Friar's Bush graveyard. 450 years of known history await you. 3rd best thing on Belfast Tripadvisor! Friar’s Bush is an ancient graveyard located on Stranmillis Road, South Belfast, with over 450 years of known history on a site that's much, much older than Belfast itself. It's an incredible place, full of the history of both the rich and the poor. The late Dr. Éamon Phoenix called it "two acres of Irish history." We are agroup of tour guides, historians, genealogists and naturalists (https://www.friarsbushgraveyard.com/guides)who offer tours of the graveyard to suit all interests. Our regular tours of the site are rated the 3rd best thing to do in Belfast on Tripadvisor! (https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Attraction_Review-g186470-d1731348-Reviews-Friar_s_Bush_Graveyard_Cemetery_Tours-Belfast_Northern_Ireland.html) and we rank in the top 10% in the world on Tripadvisor. Our regular historical walking tour of Friar’s Bush graveyard runs every Saturday at 11 am year round and every Friday at 11am during June, July and August. Each day the tour is led by a different guide from the group (https://www.friarsbushgraveyard.com/guides), so no two tours are exactly alike, as each guide has their own special areas of interest. The tour lasts around an hour and a half and is accessible being mostly on flat, well drained cut grass paths (https://www.friarsbushgraveyard.com/accessibility). We welcome private and group tour enquiries & and also run a range of specialist tours. A selection of our hundreds of 5-star reviews on Tripadvisor (https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Attraction_Review-g186470-d1731348-Reviews-Friar_s_Bush_Graveyard_Cemetery_Tours-Belfast_Northern_Ireland.html) Fantastic tour. A place I have wanted to visit for 30+ years, but never thought I would get access. - Alan C I have always walked past and been curious to see inside and learn more. I finally had the pleasure of doing a tour here last Saturday. The guide was really knowledgable and passionate, and was easily able to answer all our questions. The tour went at a good pace and covered so many interesting stories about symbolism, the famine, grave robbers and more. A special experience I would recommend to anyone. - Ashley R A fascinating place with perhaps more unknown than known of those who rest there. An ecuminical graveyard before its time with folks of all social backgrounds interred within it's walls. A hidden gem - Gerard M
