Managing Inclusion in the Workplace

Creating a fair, respectful and inclusive workplace is essential to attracting and retaining a strong construction workforce. This practical session will help construction businesses understand their responsibilities around equality, diversity and inclusion, including preventing discrimination and harassment, while exploring how to create a workplace where everyone is treated fairly, valued for their differences and given the opportunity to contribute.

Who Should Attend?

Construction business owners, managers, supervisors, HR/people professionals and anyone responsible for managing or supporting employees.

Course Content:

· Understand the Equality Act 2010 and the nine protected characteristics

· Recognise how to promote equality, diversity and inclusion

· Identify and prevent discrimination, harassment, victimisation and bullying

· Recognise how personal behaviour can promote inclusion

· Understand the importance of EDI in and outside the workplace

· Understand the responsibilities of employees, managers, employers and HR

Trainer Overview:

Vidette Hughes is an effective and accomplished Training Consultant who specialises in Leadership and Management, Change Management, Coaching, Mentoring, Train the Trainer, Negotiation, Communication, Sales, Customer Service. In the nine year she has been working with the Directors of MacMillan Training Partnership, she has been heavily involved with many of NI’s SME and Major Construction and related business clients.Vidette’s training specialisms include design and delivery of both virtual and classroom-based training; coaching; e-learning design and administration of learning management systems; production of training videos; and interactive learner workbooks.

Her training and coaching style combines up to date theory and thinking with practical experience which comes from her extensive senior management career. She continuously researches the most up to date thinking, theories, and papers in her specialist areas, when writing training programmes.
