About This Event

Meet The Books: Birmingham History will be held at the Birmingham & Midland Institute on Saturday 26 September 2026, with proceedings commencing at 10am. This workshop provides attendees with the opportunity to delve into an extensive collection of books dedicated to the history of Birmingham, curated and guided by a range of contributors. Participants will be able to examine rare and out-of-print volumes that document the city’s industrial, social and architectural heritage. The session is tailored for anyone with an interest in local history, whether they are a dedicated researcher or a casual reader. Tickets are available at a cost of £22.38.

The event features a large collection of books on Birmingham history, including Victorian journals of the city. Attendees can also view photographs from the How Birmingham Became A Great City exhibition, located in the Dame Rachel Waterhouse Archive.

For non-members, sessions are held at 10am, 11am, 12 noon, and 2pm. Tickets cost £22.38 and include a Day Membership return visit.
