Are you Romanian, based in the Midlands, and building or exploring your next professional step?

You might be a business owner, freelancer, self-employed professional, founder, someone with an idea, or someone thinking about a career shift, refocus or new direction. You do not have to do it alone.

Join us on Saturday, 26 September 2026 for a face-to-face community meetup for Romanian entrepreneurs, freelancers, professionals and people at the idea stage.

This is not a sales event. It is a space to connect, exchange real experiences, learn from one another, and help shape what comes next for the Romanian business community locally.

During the day, we will:

bring together Romanian entrepreneurs, freelancers and professionals from across sectors

welcome people who are at idea stage or exploring a career change

share early insights and findings from the project

create space for honest conversation, practical support and new connections

explore how RBRT can support Romanian talent and enterprise beyond Birmingham

If you want to grow, refocus, start something new, or simply meet people who understand the journey, this is for you.

Parking Guidance

There are many car parks on campus but the nearest for the Arts Centre are called ‘Car Park 8’ and ‘Cryfield Village Car Park’. The car parks operate on an app-based system but if you prefer to pay at traditional car parking ticket machines there are two available inside our foyers. There is also a taxi rank and bus interchange directly outside the Arts Centre and many bike racks if using other forms of transport.

About Romanians in Birmingham - Rooted and Thriving

Rooted and Thriving is a six-month community initiative funded by Barrow Cadbury Trust for Romanian entrepreneurs and self-employed professionals in Birmingham and the surrounding area.

The project focused on connection, visibility and practical support, bringing people together face to face to share experience, learn from one another, and strengthen the local Romanian business ecosystem.

We used the project as a proof of concept, but demand from across the UK has been much higher than expected. Warwick and Coventry are the first areas where we are testing this work outside Birmingham, and we hope you will help make it a success.

DOR is an organisation of Romanians in the United Kingdom supporting diaspora communities across the Midlands and nationally.

We believe in the potential of the Romanian community abroad and create opportunities for learning, integration, cultural expression, visibility and connection, both online and offline.
