# **🎬 Philosophy in Cinema — On Body and Soul (2017)** **Can two people be deeply connected before they are able to connect in ordinary life?** Endre and Mária are two isolated people who struggle to form ordinary human relationships. Then they discover something extraordinary: every night, they are having the **same dream**, in which they meet as a stag and a doe in a quiet winter forest. As their connection develops, the boundary between dream and waking life begins to blur. *On Body and Soul* explores: * love and intimacy * loneliness * vulnerability * the body and the mind * dreams and consciousness * emotional isolation * desire and sexuality * what it means to truly connect with another person And perhaps the central question: **What does it mean to truly meet another human being?** **🎥 Film review:** Mark Kermode's review of the film — worth watching before the discussion. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FESutw6NT7s&t=17s **Note:** Please watch the film before attending.
