The Gathering is Back for 2026!

This year, we are coming together to celebrate the 51st Anniversary of Cabo Verde's Independence, the pride and international recognition that showcased Cabo Verde to the world during the FIFA World Cup, and the continued growth of our Cabo Verdean community. This gathering is an opportunity to meet neighbors, welcome new faces, reconnect with family and friends, and continue building an open, inclusive, and supportive Cabo Verdean community throughout the Carolinas.

Bring your dancing shoes, your energy, and your stories as we celebrate Cabo Verdean culture, heritage, traditions, music, food, and the spirit that unites us while creating lasting memories together.

This year's gathering is more personal than in previous years as we continue building a lasting cultural legacy for Cabo Verdeans across the Carolinas.

Spend the day enjoying everything the park has to offer, including:

Scenic walking and hiking trails

Fishing piers

Children's playground

Charcoal grills available at the shelter

You're welcome to bring your own charcoal, food, and grilling supplies if you would like to cook on-site. If you'd rather leave the cooking to us, meal plates will also be available for purchase:

Adults: $20

Children: $10

A Free RSVP option is also available. If you plan to bring your own food, please select the free ticket so we can get an accurate headcount and better prepare for the expected number of attendees.

Parents and guardians are responsible for supervising their children at all times.
